Living Alone and Working from Home? Here’s How to Stay Happy and Motivated

The coronavirus pandemic has forced a large working population to work from home.  While some are getting used to working from the comforts of their home, others who stay alone, can’t wait to get out and socialise with their colleagues and friends.

If you too are stuck in this situation and handling the work from home pressure all alone.

We have a few work from home tips to help you stay motivated.

1. Pep up your home office

One of the advantages of working from home is you get the freedom to design your home office. To keep things exciting, don your creative hat and set up an office that you’d like to flaunt. Invest in some ergonomic furniture and explore the Internet for creative ideas to set your home office that’s designed for productivity.

Besides the furniture, you may opt to embellish your office space with a few air-purifying plants such as peace lily, spider plant, chrysanthemum, snake plant, aloe vera, money plant, and areca palm among others.

You may also fix some motivational posters that offer hope, positivity and inspire you not to give up.

2. Take-up a new skill/hobby or revive the old one

Your skills or hobbies can truly be a refuge for you in the tough times. You may make use of your free time by doing something you always wished for but could not do due to your busy schedule.

Enroll in a hobby class, go for free online courses to better your career prospects or explore new possibilities for your career and life.

3. Look after your health

Looking after your overall fitness is the best thing you can do during this work from home period. Since you can squeeze in some time now, this is your chance to meet your long due fitness goals.

You can go for yoga to boost your immunity or create a fitness regime to stay healthy when working from home. You can also start a few challenges online to keep yourself motivated towards your fitness goals.

4. Take refuge in music

It’s been rightly said the right playlist can light up your day and evenings. So, play your favourite songs and enjoy your work. There’s nothing better than some nice music in the background and you chilling out with a hot mug of chocolate coffee. Ah, bliss!

5. Stay connected on social media

Social media can be a great savior when it comes to reducing the sense of isolation.

Keeping yourself connected with your family, friends and office mates can help you get the right vibes during work from home. The best way to connect with people is to use instant chats and video calls.

Living alone doesn’t mean that it’s all work and no play. With technology making its way in our lives, you may ask your friends to join you for a movie or a game. This will not only help you connect but build a stronger bond with your family and friends.

Social media helps you know what is going on with your friends and family thus making you feel their presence virtually.

These are some of the tips you can follow to enjoy your time when working from home. You are the owner of your health and happiness. Trust a healthy work-life balance is important for productivity.
