Job Description
- Prepare teaching resources for Science lessons, including packing materials for experiments and setting up and cleaning experimental/demonstration apparatus as instructed by Science teachers and Level Reps.
- Prepare resources for Science Practical Tests and uphold examination integrity.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of Science rooms, Maker Studios, and learning spaces (e.g., Ecogarden, Aquaponics, Butterfly Garden).
- Follow safety guidelines for laboratory cleanliness, equipment maintenance, chemical handling, spill response, and disposal of chemicals and biological materials.
- Ensure lab equipment, safety devices, and first aid supplies are in good condition and report any faulty items.
- Supervise laboratory attendants and guide on lab safety practices.
- Support Science/Maker-related CCAs on CCA days (7:30am to 9:00am).
- Manage Maker Studio usage by students during recess and after school, and perform regular maintenance of Science resources and apparatus.
- Conduct internal stock take and notify Science HOD/LH SC of required replacements.
- Maintain stock, breakage, and replacement records.
- Assist HOD/LH Science in external stocktake with ST Engineering personnel and follow-up on actions
Job Requirement
- Minimum 3 years experience working in a school science lab or similar environment.
- At least 2 years of experience preparing SPARKLES kits for P3 teachers.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with teachers and children aged 6-12.
- Knowledgeable in preparing First Aid materials and maintaining safety supplies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience in tracking and managing computing hardware using basic inventory systems.
- Preferably 3+ years of front office experience, including answering calls and assisting students.
- Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work well with students and staff.
