We are seeking a proficient Account Director to lead all aspects of and drive growth within our portfolio of regional financial services clients, including banks, asset management firms, and other financial institutions. This role is critical for the expansion and retention of our book of business, focusing on deepening client relationships, delivering high-value solutions, and ensuring customer success. The Account Director will lead a team of account managers, providing guidance, mentorship, and strategic oversight to optimize performance and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, developing positive relationships and understanding their evolving needs.
- Proactively find opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within existing accounts to drive revenue growth.
- Ensure positive customer experience by aligning solutions with client objectives and maintaining a regular cadence of strategic discussions.
- Business Growth & Retention:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to increase revenue within the assigned portfolio.
- Focus on client retention through continuous engagement and the delivery of high-impact solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams (product, marketing, and operations) to tailor offerings and deliver customized solutions for clients.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and lead a team of commercial relationship managers, setting clear performance expectations and providing ongoing support for professional growth.
- Foster a collaborative and inspiring culture, encouraging knowledge-sharing and skill development.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and build individual development plans for each team member.
- Planning & Forecasting:
- Conduct regular account reviews, supervising performance metrics and forecasting revenue growth for the portfolio.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align account strategies with overall business goals and growth targets.
- Scan for market trends and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities for client engagement and growth.
- Operational Excellence:
- Lead all aspects of commercial management, renewals, and service-level agreements to ensure alignment with client expectations.
- Drive process improvements within the account management function to increase efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards across client engagements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or any major field; MBA degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Proven experience in account management, relationship management, or a related field, with a focus on financial sector.
- Consistent track record in leading large accounts and achieving revenue growth targets.
- Strong leadership skills with experience of nurturing talent and building strong teams.
- Deep understanding of global markets, asset management, investment banking and fintechs.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and social skills.
- Ability to analyze market trends, client needs, and industry developments to drive pivotal initiatives.
