NOTE: This is not an accounting or accountant-related role. This is a role that involves day-to-day client management.
Role
We are on the lookout for an Account Manager (aka Brand Manager in TBWA) with experience managing big clients/accounts, especially government accounts. The most important thing we are looking for is someone who has a hungry mind that wants to try new things. Asks for forgiveness rather than for permission. This person would need to be able to collaborate with different stakeholders and teams and they must be self-starters taking the initiative to lead, strategise and execute campaigns. This will require a high level of aptitude for working with strategy and creative teams, as well as direct relations with clients.
Key Responsibilities
Operations and Business
- Develop, implement and manage mid size projects/campaigns independently with minor supervision from supervisors.
- Manage project delivery against timelines and budget.
- Responsible for the financial health of all projects, managing budges/scopes.
- Understand P&L and is involved in conversations on forecasting.
- Demonstrate ability to spot business development opportunities.
Client Management
- Understand clients needs and wants and is the trusted go-to person for junior clients on day-to-day requirements, issues and challenges.
- Manage general client expectations and resolves day-to-day project delivery issues.
- Know when matters needs to be flagged/escalated ahead of time to diffuse potential issues in consultation with supervisors.
Strategy
- Understand the client's marketing needs/and brand strategy to be able support the strategy team or supervise junior support where necessary.
- Contribute general POV and input on strategy related topics and conversations.
- Understanding of industry trends and their impact on client and company's businesses.
Creative
- Identify good and bad work (not just what the client wants) and provides POVs on how to elevate the creative work.
- Present and sell small-scale campaign ideas.
- Cognisant of recent award winning works/industry best practices.
Digital
- Good understanding of platforms - latest digital and social platforms, channels and format.
- Basic knowledge around high-level social and digital trends.
- Basic understanding of structuring digital and social projects and teams.
People Management
- Key project contact with clients + integrated teams, engage the team to deliver the best output possible based on the brief.
- Manage and mentor BE/interns on brand management experience and capabilities.
Job Specifications
1. Knowledge and Experiences Required
- At least 4-7 years relevant experience with a sound knowledge of print, digital and content production processes.
- Leadership experience in managing an account servicing team.
- Sound financial planning and budget management experience.
2. Skills Required
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent relationship management and presentation skills.
- The ability to multi-task and provide holistic leadership support across a range of clients.
