Accountant

The Position:

An independent commodities trading firm is looking for an Accountant to join their team in the Singapore HQ. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will partner with other departments and work with external auditors to ensure the smooth operation of business activities.

Main Responsibilities:

• Handle full set of Accounts for the group of companies
• Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in accordance with IFRS
• Handle day to day accounts, updating daily bank transactions in the accounting system
• Manage bank reconciliations, intercompany settlements and reconciliations
• Handle petty cash, collections and credit control
• Prepare GL transactions, journal entries and maintain the fixed assets register
• Perform daily accounting activities related to commodities, forex and hedging transactions
• Coordinate with external auditors for year-end audit
• Perform other ad-hoc duties assigned by the Finance Manager

Skills & Experience:

You will hold a bachelor degree with 2-4 years hands-on accounting experience. You will be working towards qualification as a chartered accountant or will have reached this stage already. Having experience in the commodities trading sector will be advantageous. You will have good communication skills and will be committed and capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
