Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to engage with clients regarding all operational tasks and projects.
- Supervise and ensure that maintenance programs and rectification tasks are efficiently managed by a team of technical officers and technicians.
- Oversee and coordinate maintenance activities for various Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) systems, including chiller systems, chilled water systems, direct expansion (DX) systems, mechanical ventilation systems, clean room systems, and building management systems.
- Develop comprehensive plans for the installation, maintenance, and operation of ACMV systems.
- Provide guidance and lead technical investigations for rectification works, ensuring effective resolution of issues.
- Ensure daily air conditioning thermal comfort levels are maintained within acceptable limits according to established codes of practice.
- Monitor and report on maintenance work progress, follow up on action items, and maintain thorough maintenance checklists and schedules.
- Innovate and implement improvements to operational processes aimed at enhancing efficiency and promoting energy conservation.
- Work collaboratively with owners, users, consultants, vendors, and contractors to provide feasible solutions that meet engineering functional requirements and ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Conduct regular inspections of existing air-conditioning systems to verify that all maintenance programs are effectively implemented in strict adherence to guidelines and Provide technical specifications for ACMV system upgrades or renovation projects as needed.
- Stay informed about local codes of practice, including ASHRAE standards, to ensure compliance in all operations.
- Ensure that all work is carried out safely and in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Coordinate with contractors for rectification and ad-hoc works, ensuring that all tasks are executed efficiently.
- Investigate, analyze, and determine root causes of breakdowns and faults, reporting findings effectively.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and proposals regarding breakdowns and maintenance activities.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, or industrial).
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in ACMV (Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation) systems, facilities management, or project management.
- Proficient in guiding and troubleshooting ACMV faults, with a solid understanding of construction principles and building processes.
- Thorough understanding of building regulations and health and safety protocols.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with non-engineering team members.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, disciplined, and well-organized, with a strong safety mindset and a commitment to exemplary workplace safety and health (WSH) practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of troubleshooting on-site issues effectively.
- Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
