This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to join the LH2 Financial Reporting Team as an intern between January - May 2025. You will assist the senior actuaries on the regional modelling and valuation support provided to the business units in the South African and Asian markets (i.e., Southeast Asia, Korea, Japan, Malaysia Retakaful, and Dubai).
Your Role:
- You will support the senior actuaries on the regional modelling and valuation support provided to the business units in Asia markets (i.e., Southeast Asia, Korea, Japan, Malaysia Retakaful, and Dubai)
- You will contribute to the development and maintenance of AXIS models, ensuring they are optimised and aligned with regulatory and business requirements.
- You will conduct analysis on Solvency II and IFRS 17 valuation results, interpreting outcomes to support strategic decision-making.
- You will assist in improving efficiencies within Health cashflow models to streamline processes and improve performance.
- You will respond to ad-hoc requests and inquiries from business units, providing actuarial support as required.
- You will prepare detailed documentation on all work performed, ensuring traceability and transparency in the methodologies and findings.
Your Profile:
- Undergraduate student in Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering or Mathematics
- Fluent in English (both verbal and written business level)
- Good analytical abilities and proficient in resolving challenges
- Knowledge in Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), VBA, ACCESS/SQL will be an advantage
