Context of the role
We are seeking a motivated AI/ML Engineer Intern to join Thunes, where you'll gain hands-on experience working on real-world projects within the cross-border payments space. You'll be part of our AI/ML team, focused on building and optimizing machine learning models to enhance our payment network and support various AI-driven projects that improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
As an AI/ML Engineer Intern, you will assist in developing, testing, and deploying machine learning algorithms and models including Generative AI. Your contributions in model training, optimisation and deployment will support projects in various products and services dealing in cross border payments.
You'll collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and data engineers to integrate models into our systems and gain valuable insights from Thunes vast data resources.
Professional Skills And Qualifications
- Final year or recent graduate with a background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or a related major
- Experience in machine learning frameworks (scikit-learn, Tensorflow, Pytorch), big data frameworks (Spark/Hadoop/Flink) and experience in resource management and task scheduling
- Proficient in Python/SQL. Experience with any Go highly desirable
- Generative AI frameworks and libraries: Hugging Face Transformers, OpenAI, and GPT-based APIs
- Experience in ML pipeline, model training orchestration
- Good communication and teamwork skills to clearly communicate technical concepts with other teammates
- Ability to work independently and complete projects from beginning to end and in a timely manner
- Experience with at least one ML project, either academic or personal, showcasing understanding of the end-to-end ML lifecycle
- Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Transformers is a plus (e.g., Hugging Face, AutoTrain, PyTorch, PyG, OpenAI, or other relevant APIs)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) for deploying ML models is a plus
- Prior internship experience in AI/ML or data-related roles is an advantage
