The candidate should have a passion for developing and advancing AI solutions through both independent and team-based research. In this role, you will be responsible for pioneering research projects, creating new algorithms, and driving forward our AI initiatives using frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch to deliver state-of-the-art generative AI/ML solutions. Key responsibilities include designing and conducting scientific experiments, applying foundational AI/ML knowledge to develop unique AI solutions for both cloud and on-premises deployments. You'll also work collaboratively within the team, engage in code reviews, participate in architectural discussions, and ensure thorough documentation. Strong skills in statistical analysis, machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, and text representation methods are essential. Effective communication, a strong work ethic, and a dedication to delivering innovative, high-quality solutions are also critical for success.
Responsibilities
- Conduct innovative and cutting-edge research in AI and machine learning, with a focus on areas like computer vision (CV), natural language processing (NLP), and automatic speech recognition (ASR).
- Design, implement, and optimize models and algorithms for various applications, using supervised, self-supervised, semi-supervised, or unsupervised learning.
- Work with partners and engineers to translate research findings into real-world applications and product developments.
- Maintain regular communication with supervisors and research leads regarding progress, insights, and research directions.
- Publishing in top journals and conferences is valued but not mandatory.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to transition research technologies (low TRL) to advanced engineering stages (high TRL).
- Senior-level candidates are expected to mentor and provide technical guidance to team members.
Requirements
- PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 2-4 years of research and development experience in areas such as:
- Computer Vision
- NLP, including LLM core components (e.g., joint entity relation, information retrieval, prompt engineering, reasoning, sentiment analysis, guardrails)
- Generative AI (e.g., synthetic data generation)
- Audio Analytics
- Large Vision Language Models (LVLM)
- Embodied AI
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and/or C/C++, with experience in deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, Keras, and PyTorch.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Up-to-date knowledge of AI research trends through literature reviews, conferences, and team knowledge-sharing.
- A proactive approach to delivering effective solutions within tight timelines.
- Strong organizational, communication, and, preferably, mentoring skills.
- Competent in documenting technical specifications, architectural designs, and best practices.
