As an Ecolab application engineer, the primary responsibility revolves around implementing tailored chemical treatment solutions for clients in the refinery and chemical process industry. This entails not only delivering effective treatments but also providing value-added services and managing projects aimed at reducing the Total Cost of Operation (TCO) for the clients. Additionally, the application engineer should be readily available to address any troubleshooting or queries related to Ecolabs services and products. Given that refineries and chemical plants operate 24/7, the application engineer shall be committed to assisting clients even beyond regular office hours when necessary.
Leading Chemical Treatment Programs: Take charge of implementing chemical treatment programs at the clients site. Focus is on ensuring optimal performance and promptly addressing any deviations from the treatment plan.
Reporting and Communication: Provide regular chemical treatment program reports to clients, keeping them informed about progress and updates according to the agreed schedule.
Inventory and Equipment Management: Managing chemical inventory is essential. Oversee stock levels and equipment replacement parts program to ensure timely replenishment to support seamless operations.
Monthly Reviews: Prepare and deliver comprehensive monthly review materials to clients. These reviews serve as a valuable platform for discussing program effectiveness and identifying areas for improvement.
Analytical Field Testing: On-site field testing is a crucial aspect of the role. Conduct rigorous analytical tests to identify and rectify any off-specification issues within the chemical treatment program.
Proposal Development: Collaborating closely with managers, contribute to the development of chemical treatment proposals. These proposals aim to enhance efficiency and address specific client needs. Participate in new application start-ups and evaluations.
Value-Added Projects: Actively source and develop value-added projects in collaboration with clients. These projects are designed to reduce the Total Cost of Operation (TCO) with Ecolabs product.
Client Relationship Management: Building and nurturing strong relationships with clients is paramount. Frequent engagement ensures effective communication and mutual understanding.
Subcontractor performance Management: Qualify, coordinate and monitor subcontractors performance delivery to enable seamless flow and delivery to end customers expectation.
Troubleshooting and Collaboration: When clients encounter challenges related to chemical treatment programs or Ecolabs products, step in to troubleshoot and collaborate with team members to find solutions.
Requirements:
Educational Background: A Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, coupled with relevant industry experience (>1 year of experience), is highly preferred.
Industry Comfort: The successful candidate should feel at ease supporting clients within the petrochemical industry.
Communication Skills: Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills are essential. Clear and concise communication is crucial in this role.
Reporting Proficiency: The ability to write and maintain clear, concise reports using standard laptop computers is a key requirement.
Logical Thinking and Decision-Making: We seek an individual who can think logically, apply common sense, and make informed decisions.
