Role: Application Modernisation Consultant/Cloud Architect
Location: Singapore
Duration: Contract for 12 months min & extendible
Hybrid role
Description:
As an Application Modernisation Cloud Consultant/Cloud Architect, you will work directly with our most strategic customers on critical application development and modernization projects to help them transform their businesses. You will provide consulting, program management and technical expertise to customers while working with client executives and key technical leaders to drive adoption of modern application patterns and paradigms via Google's Cloud Platform.
You will also work closely with our key partners currently servicing top accounts to manage programs, deliver consulting services, and provide technical guidance and best practice expertise.
You possess a broad skill set including software engineering, architecture design, distributed systems, container technologies, and deployment strategies. To be successful, you know how to navigate ambiguity, have extensive experience working with cloud technologies, have technical depth and enjoy working with client executives. You also possess excellent communication and project management skills. Travel approximately 30% of the time for client engagements.
Responsibilities:
Work with customer development leads, client executives, and partners to manage and
deliver successful, modern, cloud applications, becoming a trusted advisor to decision makers throughout the engagement.
Work with internal specialists, product and engineering teams to package approaches, best practices and lessons learned into thought leadership, methodologies and published assets.
Interact with sales, partners, and customer technical stakeholders to manage project scope, priorities, deliverables, risks/issues, and timelines for successful client outcomes.
Advocate for customers needs to overcome adoption blockers and drive new feature
development based on your field experience.
Propose solution architectures and manage the deployment of cloud native application development solutions according to complex customer requirements and implementation
best practices.
Requirement:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience project managing and/or delivering technical solutions.
Advanced understanding of the software supply chain in an enterprise environment (software engineering, testing, CI/CD) and architecting, developing, or maintaining cloud solutions in containerized environments.
Ability to speak and write in English fluently. Local regional language proficiency is a requirement.
Experience with highly available, scalable applications and distributed systems.
7 years of experience demonstrating technical client service.
Experience with software languages (Java, Go, JavaScript, Python, etc.) and building / architecting DevOps pipelines and familiarity with associated tools.
Experience with detailed network, security, and system design in the deployment of virtual machines and containerized applications.
Working knowledge of Kubernetes.
Demonstrate excellent communication, written, presentation and problem solving skills.
Hold a cloud certification.
Application Architecture - Microservices backend experience, front-end exposure
Software Engineering - Full Stack developer exposure
Database skills - from the developer perspective
Containerization - Docker, K8s, GKE, Kubernetes networking, Istio service mesh.
Infra as Code - Terraform
CICD - Common tooling and patterns
Cloud-Native Design Patterns - Understanding patterns that are specific to cloud-based application refactoring and modernization.
API Management - Being well-versed in API gateways, design, security, and monitoring, since APIs are important in app modernization.
Observability - common approaches for metrics and logging; this could be scoped to
containerization.
