About the Role
The Team Lead, Application & Development will oversee the organisation's application services team, ensuring seamless operation and alignment with enterprise standards to meet business goals. This role is key in managing both in-house and outsourced systems, ensuring they perform as expected and deliver value to the organization.
In addition to managing the team, the Team Lead will take charge of the company's application portfolio, overseeing its development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance. A solid understanding of application development processes, project management, and team leadership is essential to succeed in this position. The successful candidate will ensure our applications effectively support the organization's needs and enhance customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of application developers, analysts, and support staff, providing mentorship, guidance, and ongoing support.
- Develop and implement strategies for application management that align with the company's business goals.
- Oversee the entire application development and support lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design through to deployment, maintenance, and support.
- Manage incident, problem, and change processes, ensuring production readiness and driving improvements in automation, simplification, capacity, and performance.
- Monitor application performance, availability, and security, swiftly addressing any issues.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices, driving continuous improvement within the team.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate clear communication and collaboration.
- Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, performance assessments, and issue resolution.
- Prepare and manage the application services budget, allocating resources efficiently and ensuring cost control.
- Provide regular performance and project progress updates to senior management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in application development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the financial industry with securities and futures brokering experience.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities, with strong motivation and communication skills to lead a diverse team effectively.
- Comprehensive knowledge of application development methodologies, frameworks, and best practices proficiency in .NET and familiarity with SQL and database management.
- Excellent project management and multitasking abilities, capable of handling multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, adept at resolving complex technical issues and making sound choices under pressure.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field ITIL certification is a plus.
