Art Therapist (Paediatric)

Job Description:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Assess the needs of children, teens, adults with special needs with developmental, emotional and/or behavioral challenges and families for art therapy

Provide intervention, guidance and work creatively with various clients in an individual or group setting for art therapy

• Set goals, review progress systematically to monitor effectiveness and to aid the planning of subsequent sessions

Liaise and collaborate with professionals in the team by engaging in case discussions and/or meetings to share ideas, expertise and good practice

• Maintain up-to-date records of assessment/intervention with clients and consultation with families/staff/other stakeholders

Maintain timely and appropriate feedback and necessary communication with the clients and stakeholders (e.g., family and staff) in the management of clients art therapy issues

• Participate in staff meetings, internal professional development, events organised by TLC, networking meetings, and any other meetings as and when necessary. This may include presenting and promoting art therapy to clients and other professionals

Keep up to date with administration matters which is not limited to but include: respond to referrals, follow clinic process for seeing the client, completing memos (as necessary)

• Maintain open communication with clinic directors of their work with the client and families

Be proactive in keeping abreast of developments in the field of Art Therapy

• Maintain art therapy space and materials

• Requirements:

Master of Arts in Art Therapy from recognised institutions

• Registration with relevant Professional Body or Art Therapy Association

Able to work a weekend (either sat or sun)

• Good interpersonal and communication skills

Good organisation and planning skills

• Independent and self motivated

Good team player and also be able to work independently
