Role Overview
As part of the Finance Operations under the Finance Business Partner (FBP) team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the organization's vision by collaborating closely with the FBP. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure financial sustainability and operational excellence through strong governance processes. The FBP team works in active partnership with business units and management, serving as trusted advisors to assist in informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Closing and Reporting:
- Update the monthly financial tracker and reporting deck for various divisions and programmes.
- Manage manpower allocation and adjustments for products and programmes on a quarterly or half-yearly basis.
- Allocate central costs to products and programmes on a monthly or quarterly basis.
- Prepare and submit templates for monthly or quarterly revenue and expense accruals, as well as any ad-hoc reclassification journals, ensuring supporting documents and approvals are in place for proper accounting.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end close activities.
- Follow up promptly on any outstanding financial matters.
Budget Operations
- Collaborate with project teams to identify purchase order lines for re-tagging or closure, and facilitate the transfer or re-tagging of fixed assets.
- Request and secure approval for budget virements between or across projects and cost centres as necessary.
Grants And Governance
- Prepare templates with supporting documentation to facilitate the recovery of grants and expenses.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, internal memorandums (IMs), and relevant government policies.
Process Improvement
- Participate in ongoing system enhancements and process improvement initiatives.
- Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) when necessary, ensuring accuracy in logic and alignment with requirements.
Other Responsibilities
- Undertake ad-hoc projects, analysis work, or any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Educational Background: A degree in Accountancy, ACCA, or a relevant professional accounting qualification, with a minimum of 3 years of experience. Prior experience in a technology company is preferred.
- Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build robust relationships and manage stakeholders effectively. Comfortable communicating across all organizational levels.
- Problem-Solving & Creativity: Demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities and a creative, outside-the-box approach, with a solid grasp of business acumen.
- Team Player & Critical Thinking: A professional, self-motivated team player who possesses strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Attention to Detail & Proactive Attitude: Exhibits a positive, can-do attitude with a meticulous eye for detail. Capable of working with large data sets and handling hands-on tasks efficiently.
- Adaptability & Change Management: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, with the ability to propose, justify, and implement changes confidently.
