Job Description
Vetting of Indian programmes on Vasantham and mewatch to ensure adherence to IMDA TV compliance Codes
Ensure Content Code compliance in all our acquired programme broadcasts on FTA-TV Channels and on mewatch.
Assessment of pre-production scripts and highlighting of potential concerns in local content.
Ability to make editorial amendments to mitigate content issues and sensitivities.
Recommend appropriate consumer advisory ratings and scheduling suitability of programmes.
Research on specific acquired programmes that may have sensitivities for our local broadcast.
Craft engaging synopses for FTA acquired programmes for media / press release.
Work closely with Programming / Marketing / Scheduling / Subtitling & Sales teams in achieving our Corporate goals.
Qualifications
General Degree in any discipline.
Experience in Broadcast / Media regulations and compliance will be beneficial.
A strong team player who is also able to work independently and under pressure to meet broadcast deadlines.
A keen awareness of local social sensitivities in TV programming for broadcast on Vasantham and on meWATCH.
Knowledgeable of local and regional political and bi-lateral concerns of the day.
Possess a general understanding of local laws & regulations.
Ability to comprehend Indian dialects is an asset.
Possess good English writing skills for effective communications on compliance matters with internal and external stakeholders.
