Job Responsibilities
Job summary: Primarily team lead of space and allocation management and attending to all respective services and partners issues relating to space allocation and utilization
- Lead in overall management of space allocation to ensure that all vessels space utilization both headhaul and backhaul is at an optimal target level to maximize profit of trade services
- Liaise with agents, internal and external stakeholders on all tactical/strategic matters, including new services, services reshuffle, vessels redeployment plan, phasing in/out option and port change / omissions
- Maintain Trade Services Catalogue and preparation of lifting reports
- Monitor space utilization for transshipment cargoes
- Review agents performance on space utilization efficiency
- Review & coordinate with other division stakeholders (i.e. EMD / OPPC / RO) to maximize the backhaul sailing full with both laden and empty container
- Optimize cargo management to ensure P&L optimization
- Lead efforts to implement solutions to address cargo imbalances, optimizing container allocation and improving vessel profile for optimal yield
- Lead response efforts during operational disruptions and develop contingency plans for cargo recoveries and minimize the impact on cargo flow
- Leading and managing the Cargo Flow Management Team.
- Act as deputy Trade Manager during his/her absence as and when required.
- Mentoring CFMT team with both hard and soft skills (Trade Knowledge, Communication skills, Flexibility)
- Collaborates with Trade Manager and cross-functional teams to align cargo flow operations with company's strategic goals
Job Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience within similar role
- Outspoken, strong communication skills to take decisive actions in a fast pace environment
- Strong interpersonal skills to nurture junior staff and cultivate a people centric environment within the team
- Adaptable to the dynamic landscape of cargo flow taking a proactive approach in anticipating and resolving operational challenges effectively
