What You'll Do:
- This role will report into Head, Investment and Merger & Acquisition, with a flat team structure and potential to mentor junior member(s), grow and take on deal captain roles / responsibilities.
- Prepare high quality investment memoranda and develop solid reports and presentation to aid decision making and investment approval
- Key member of transaction team to perform business and financial analysis, analyse and execute strategic investments and divestments including but limited to:
- Support investment or divestment decisions, acquisitions of assets / businesses, and formation of joint ventures
- Perform research and analysis of market-related developments, industry peers, regulatory developments and maintain a database of such analysis
- Drive investment strategy development aligning with corporate objectives and market trends
- Lead and review valuation model, validate assumptions and perform strategic analysis (business and commercial) and assessment of risks
- Lead comprehensive due diligence processes, coordinate with internal teams (business development, O&M, engineering/design, finance, treasury, legal), professional advisers and deal counterparties to progress deals to completion
- Drive transaction execution, including due diligence, project management, review of documentation, completion and closing arrangements
- Ensure the asset companies follow the internal approval processes and comply with the established guidelines and procedures
What You'll Need:
- Degree in Accountancy/Finance/Economics with strong academic results, MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred. Engineering with Business and/or Accountancy/Finance related majors may be considered
- At least 8 to 10 years relevant experience in corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, project finance in the energy or infrastructure sectors; experience in power or renewables assets investments is a plus
- Strong expertise in valuation, financing, accounting and experienced in M&A due diligence process and deal negotiation (SPA, SHA, JVA)
- Sharp financial and commercial acumen with solid corporate finance and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Mandarin is necessary, deal experience in renewables or China market is a plus
- Balanced commercial and risk mindset, demonstrate strategic vision and high attention to detail
- Self-motivated, resourceful, results-oriented, possess problem-solving aptitude and able to thrive under pressure and tight deadlines
- Team player who can work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving and flexible environment
- Expert communicator, sensitive to cultural differences yet effective in project management, highly entrepreneurial with can-do attitude
