You will be part of the Youth Preventive Service (YPS) Group at HPB, whose mission is to promote good health through early detection and intervention, to reduce ill health among school-going children and youth. The services provided by the Group include health and dental screening, immunisation, and lifestyle intervention programmes.
As Assistant Director, Planning, you will be at the forefront of driving strategies that promote lifelong health and wellness for our younger generation. You will lead strategic planning initiatives and manage key partnerships with multi-agencies across the government and community sectors, to advance national health priorities.
What You Can Expect
As a key leader in HPB's Youth Preventive Services (YPS) Group, you will drive the following key functions:
- Strategy development: Lead the development of strategies and action plan to improve the health and wellbeing of child and youth in Singapore
- Project management: Oversee national preventive health projects, in collaboration with key partners, to ensure deliverables & objectives are met
- Monitor & review: Oversee the implementation of preventive health strategies for child & youth, including the review and analysis of gaps to continually enhance impact
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in strategic planning, monitoring, and evaluation of key health initiatives.
- Coordinate cross-agency efforts to deliver child & youth preventive health interventions in collaboration with key stakeholders (e.g. MOH and MOE).
- Manage the performance of HPB's preventive health initiatives through data-driven reviews and gap analysis to meet evolving needs.
- Drive implementation of public health strategies with focus on continuous improvement, operational excellence, and best practices.
- Ensure that HPB's preventive health strategies are sustainable, adaptable, and future-ready.
What an ideal candidate looks like
We are looking for an energetic and forward-thinking professional with:
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in strategic planning, health policy, and/or project management.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of managing diverse stakeholder relationships.
- Experience in cross-divisional and cross-agency partnerships to drive national or public health initiatives.
- Strong systemic thinking capability, and able to lead data-driven analysis for decisions by senior management.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively manage teams and present strategic plans to senior management.
