Role Overview
As the Assistant Finance Manager/Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the full spectrum of financial and accounting functions within the organization. This includes the preparation of financial statements, budget management, and ensuring compliance with Singapore's financial regulations. You will lead a team of finance professionals, collaborate with department heads, and drive accurate reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee all financial and accounting operations.
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules for internal and external stakeholders within strict deadlines, ensuring accuracy in the preparation, verification, and recording of journal entries and other documents.
- Maintain schedules and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Collaborate with auditors, providing financial and compliance-related information for regulatory, external, and internal audit reviews.
- Lead the budgeting process, working closely with department heads to ensure financial goals are aligned with organizational objectives.
- Oversee group-level financial consolidation to ensure timely closings and reports.
- Review and ensure accurate submission of GST returns.
- Stay current on Singapore Accounting Standards and tax regulations, ensuring full compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and mentor a team of finance staff, providing guidance and ensuring professional growth.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A professional qualification in accounting, such as a Bachelor's degree in Accounting & Finance, or ACCA. CPA certification is required.
- At least 5-6 years of experience in finance, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Deep understanding of financial regulations, Singapore Accounting Standards, and reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems and make sound decisions.
- Hands-on experience with consolidation and audits is essential.
