Purpose of the Role:
Reporting to the Manager, you will work closely with team members to execute the society's communications strategy. The job responsibilities cover both the strategic and the tactical. The role will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders and partners to form the voice of SCS and maintain SCS's credibility as the go-to source for cancer-related information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Communications Manager on the full spectrum of communications activities for SCS's programmes, services, campaigns and events to achieve the overall organisation's objectives.
- Implement the communication strategy, manage and grow relationships with media and influencers, and develop media plans to garner positive earned coverage
- Co-lead the management of SCS story bank, curating impact stories to promote programme and services, and expanding outreach for SCS flagship events
- Develop/write communications materials targeting the different stakeholders and audiences of the various campaigns, events, programmes and services.
- Maximise social media and digital communication channels to promote SCS cancer awareness campaigns, programme, services and public events.
- Manage the delivery of SCS publications (newsletter, EDM, publication, annual report), ensuring alignment of messaging and branding.
- Maximise existing internal communication channels (ie. newsletter, Workplace) in all communication plans and implementations to engage internal stakeholders.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in communications or relevant fields, exposure to marketing is an advantage
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of current trends in the media landscape
- Experienced in developing content and managing digital & social media channels
- Experienced in managing influencers engagement,
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience in working in a multi-stakeholder environment
