The Office of the Provost is inviting applicants for an Assistant Manager/Manager position in a new residential college to be inaugurated in 2025.

Residential College provide a unique living and learning experience for undergraduates in their first and second year. This new residential college will offer the UTown College Programme (UTCP) and contribute towards a holistic education that integrates academic, social, and personal development.

The incumbent for this position will provide administrative support for all financial matters related to the living and learning community at the residential college. This is a full-time position which is offered on a 2-year renewable appointment for the first instance and is intended to be a long-term appointment for a suitable candidate.

The following lists the key job functions for this position:

  1. Prepare, receive and collate invoices and reimbursement forms from staff and students, as well as to follow up on any necessary resolution of exceptions.
  2. Request for creation of invoices and customer records, manage collection of cash/cheques.
  3. Perform RC coordinator's role for the university's finance system, including providing advice on cost allocation and charging to relevant accounts, reviewing expense reports and tracking overall expenditures.
  4. Vendor management and reviewing open purchase orders.
  5. Monitor and reconcile monthly financial reports of college operating budget, donor funds (if any) and manage annual budgeting exercise.
  6. Serve as point of contact for any finance related initiative, queries and reviews.
  7. Manage and support college's scholarship and financial aid processes.
  8. Undertake other assigned duties as and when required.

Qualifications

  • A university degree with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications such as Words, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Willingness to learn with an eye for detail
  • Adaptable with a positive work attitude.
  • Able to work independently and as a team.
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
