Job Description:
You are part of the Regional Controllership Team in Sea Finance. You play a key role in bridging HQ tax and LATAM tax teams in leading and rolling out crucial projects and new developments. You will be expected to be relocated to Brazil for the first two years. The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Developing and maintaining tax plans, compliance procedures and risk assessment frameworks, to ensure effective tax management
- Managing and overseeing the filing of regular tax returns, including income tax, VAT and other direct or indirect taxes
- Collaborating with finance, accounting teams and other stakeholders to ensure our tax strategies and policies are implemented accurately per national tax compliance requirements
- Identifying, tracking and reporting any potential financial risks or issues and working closely with the accounting teams to implement appropriate solutions
- Ensuring the alignment among HQ teams and local teams on tax matters
- Responsible for the group's direct tax, indirect tax and transfer pricing matters
- Responsible for tax compliance and tax reporting of the group, including review or preparing tax returns, where appropriate
- Coordinate or prepare transfer pricing documentations for the group to ensure the compliance of transfer pricing regulations
- Assist with research and implementation of various tax initiatives which includes working closely with stakeholders to understand the tax impact of business operations and ensure that tax needs are identified, considered and communicated
- Manage tax audits with close collaboration with finance teams
- Participate in ad-hoc projects
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Taxation, Accounting or a related discipline
- Advanced taxation qualification is preferred
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience preferably in a tax function in a Big 4 firm and/or relevant tax experience in a MNC
- Strong technical knowledge of direct and indirect taxes and transfer pricing regulation
- Strong team player with experience in leading, developing and growing teams
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced and demanding environment while delivering desired results
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage and influence stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
- Strong logical and analytical thinking skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to manage projects independently
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with voluminous data management, statistics and research methodology will be a plus
