The Assistant Manager will work with a team in planning and delivering key student leadership development initiatives in SIT, including Leadership Training Programmes, the SITizen Ambassadors and Vanguard Programmes. The Assistant Manager will also support the daily operations of the division, including project management, student development and partnership management. This position contributes to creating a vibrant student life, building upon the divisions 6 core pillars: Campus Connection, Campus Life, Leadership, Wellness, SITizen Services and Alumni. These pillars exist to create a holistic educational environment to enrich and empower both students and alumni (also called SITizens), develop their leadership skills and create opportunities to strengthen the SITizen community.
The Assistant Manager will report directly to the Pillar Lead (Leadership).
Key Responsibilities
Student Leadership Development
Work with the Pillar in planning and crafting crucial Leadership Development programmes, including programme design, execution and evaluation to ensure optimal student engagement, experience and learning.
Mentor and develop students in both the Vanguard and SITizen Ambassadors programmes:
Encourage and challenge students personal development and growth through coaching and advising.
Create opportunities for professional and personal development, including building meaningful and professional relationships amongst peers and SIT partners.
Manage and support any student-led projects and programmes, reviewing and evaluating their proposals, administrative and logistic matters.
Pillar Management and Support
Support in managing and ensuring the accurate administration and operational functions of both the Pillar and the Division, including procurement, data consolidation and report preparation.
Event Management
Support the Division in the planning and execution of major Pillar events, including Vanguard Core Training, SITizen Ambassadors Core Training and the Future Ready Leadership Programme and division wide events, such as First Year Experience, SITizens Awards Night and New Leaders Briefing.
Division Support
Any additional adhoc projects as assigned by the Director, Office of SITizen Experience
Job Requirements
Degree from a good University with at least three years of experience in a similar position from an educational / community / leadership / corporate environment.
Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to connect with and bridge students with staff.
Creative thinking, adaptability, and the ability to be innovative.
Good planning and organization skills, with an eye for detail.
Passionate with a positive attitude, able to multi-task and work independently within tight timelines.
Committed team player, who is responsible, reliable and able to work with others to achieve the divisions mission.
Enjoys working with students and can work outside of office hours and on weekends when needed.
