Assistant Manager, Student Care & Counselling

Established in 1981, the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) https://www.ntu.edu.sg/eee is one of the founding Schools of the Nanyang Technological University. Built on a culture of excellence, the school is renowned for its high academic standards and research. It is one of the largest EEE schools in the world, with more than 120 faculty members and an enrolment of more than 4,000, of which about 1,000 are graduate students.

We invite applications for the position of Assistant Manager, Student Care & Counselling. The incumbent shall provide personalized emotional, mental, and academic support, managing crises, and facilitating development programs to enhance student engagement and retention.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide personalized emotional, mental, and academic support to MSc students. Act as a key point of contact for student well-being concerns, ensuring timely intervention and resource provision.

• Handle student crises and emergencies, offering immediate support and coordinating with relevant departments to resolve issues effectively.

• Work with academic and support teams to address students academic challenges, ensuring personalized strategies for those at risk of failing or leaving.

• Organize workshops, initiatives, and programs focused on mental health, stress management, and personal development to enhance student engagement and holistic growth.

• Regularly collaborate with academic staff, student services, and external partners to ensure a comprehensive support network for students.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in student care is preferred

• Possess strong communication skills and problem-solving skills with good time management.

• Able to handle stress and passionate in assisting students.

• Experience in counselling and pastoral care will be an advantage.

• Possess a can-do attitude, ability to work fast and independently.

• A team player with strong interpersonal skills.
