Job Purpose:
The Senior Associate / Assistant Manager, Sustainability & Communications, will play an integral role in fostering collaboration and synergy between business groups (BGs) and key stakeholders to advance purpose-driven sustainability initiatives and impactful communications. The role will support sustainability reporting/disclosures, stakeholder engagement, and the development of targeted communications strategies aimed at enhancing the Group's recognition as a leader in sustainability, as well as its positioning as the preferred business partner and customer of choice.
Key Responsibilities
Sustainability:
. Build and maintain close communication with Sustainability leadership and team members across the Business Groups (BGs).
. Act as a point of contact between BGs to ensure alignment of directions, expectations, communications and effective knowledge sharing.
. Support benchmarking exercises, provide recommendations for improving sustainability practices in line with global and industry benchmarks.
. Assist in sustainability reporting and disclosure activities for various business groups.
. Manage stakeholder engagement with key external partners (government, NGOs, industry bodies, think-tanks etc), and integrate feedback for continuous improvement.
. Collaborate with internal functions across BGs to enhance sustainability initiatives and management reporting.
. Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to sustainability.
. Perform any other tasks as required
Communications:
. Support the development and execution of communications strategies that increase engagement, brand awareness, and effective programme storytelling
. Collaborate closely with business group communications teams to identify target audiences and develop integrated communications plans across different channels and segments that align with the company's business objectives.
. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to implement communication plans that promote sustainability programme
. Support media engagement strategies, analyse media coverage, and provide insights to inform communications strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
. Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Communications, or a relevant field.
. Minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainability, CSR, or communications in a corporate setting.
. Experience in forestry, palm oil, or resource-based commodities is preferred.
. Strong business acumen to align messaging with business goals.
. Excellent ability to craft compelling stories and identify key narrative angles.
. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
. Ability to travel frequently.
