Responsibilities
- Administer student financing (eg scholarships, awards, bursaries, grants, loans and sponsorships) including system set-up and maintenance of student financing schemes, maintenance of recipient records, disbursements and refunds, etc.
- Liaise and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders on the disbursement of student financing.
- Liaise and collaborate closely with external organisations on student matters.
- Prepare billing templates for issuance of invoices and assist to follow up on outstanding payments.
- Prepare payment request templates for fund disbursement to students.
- Address queries on student financing promptly.
- Prepare accounting entries for month-end closing;
- Audit schedules and reports for management and stakeholders.
- Perform data analysis to identify trends and insights for management decision making.
- Prepare reports and present findings for internal and regulatory reporting.
- Assist in system enhancement projects and other process improvement initiatives, including system design and performing UAT.
- Any other task relating to student financing administration.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Accountancy, Business, or a related discipline with minimum 2 years of work experience.
- Recent graduates with relevant competencies may be considered.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and experience with financial software and databases.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in any of the major accounting software (eg SAP, Peoplesoft Student Financials, etc.) will be advantageous.
- Experience with system change implementations will be advantageous.
- A proactive team player with ability to work independently.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to prioritise and good at time management.
- Fast worker who is hardworking, meticulous and possesses initiative.
- Systematic and organised, ability to handle very high volume of data and paperwork.
- Result and service-oriented individual who is disciplined in monitoring and following up on outstanding matters.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Candidates who do not possess the stipulated qualifications but have relevant work experience may still apply. Remuneration and appointment terms shall commensurate with qualifications and experience. SMU reserves the right to modify the appointment terms where necessary.
