Job Purpose
You are required to perform underwriting for all applications received at Customer Service (CS) for policies post-inception and Post-Claims Underwriting (PCU).
The Job
- Provide underwriting advice for cases requiring post-claims underwriting.
- Perform underwriting for applications received at CS requiring underwriting post-inception
- Provide prompt case management support (e.g. to explain the rationale on underwriting decisions regarding loading/ exclusion/ postponed/ declined) to financial representatives through e-booking, meet up sessions, emails and phone calls and to provide prompt assistance as and when required.
- Ensure department's KPIs are achieved.
- Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
- Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
- Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
- Be involved in projects and duties as and when required by supervisor.
Requirements
- Degree with at least 3 to 5 years underwriting experience for life, disability, long term care, accident and health applications
- Non-degree holders who have relevant experience in underwriting may be considered
- Good team player with an eye to details
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure, and customer service orientated
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
- Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
