We are seeking an Assistant VP, Finance / Finance Manager to oversee, handle and manage the finance duties and responsibilities of the firm.
Job Description
. Prepare and vet accounting work including preparation of monthly management accounts and financial statements.
. Prepare weekly cash flows, quarterly GST filings, financial budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections for the company and funds.
. Liaise with external service providers, including advisors, tax agents, corporate secretaries and auditors.
. Maintain financial records and databases including fixed asset register, intercompany transactions, etc.
. Responsible for bank account management and bank account opening, and assisting with AML/KYC checks.
. Responsible for fund-related finance activities, including capital call planning, capital account statements, carried interest calculation etc.
. Responsible for calculation and payment of taxes, compliance reporting and statutory filings.
. Identify, formulate, propose and implement continuous process improvements and transformation in ensuring operational efficiency, cost effectiveness and internal controls.
. Support the processing of payments and claims.
. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies, and provide support to regulatory, statutory and compliance requirements.
. Perform budgeting, forecasting and working on capital call matters for the business.
. Take on ad-hoc duties when necessary.
Job Requirements:
. Chartered Accountant with around 4 to 8 years of accounting experience, preferably in the fund/asset management industry.
. Audit experience with Big 4 audit firm is preferred.
. Meticulous with strong problem-solving skills.
. Interest to work in fast-paced environment with high level of autonomy with strong sense of ownership, initiative and resourcefulness.
. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to be able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
. Intention to grow with the firm over the long term.
. Excellent written and spoken English.
. Professional and people oriented. Positive, collaborative and keen to learn.
. Possess a track record of excellence and willing to be hands on.
. Able to assume a broad role with the ability to prioritise.
