Participation in teaching, research, quality improvement, and administrative activities is also expected.

Clinical duties include managing haematology patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings. You will be expected to conduct three specialist clinics per week and handle inpatient referrals. You will also be involved in adding new tests to the laboratory inventory over time, as well as the procurement and setup of laboratory equipment. Liaison with other clinicians as well as senior staff in other laboratories is expected.

In addition to the clinical duties outlined above, there are administrative, research, and educational commitments expected, including (but not limited to) serving on hospital and external (up to national-level) committees in roles related to the specialty. You will be expected to teach various levels of staff, including medical undergraduates, junior doctors (including haematology trainees), and laboratory technical staff.
