Job Description
KKH is an 830-bed tertiary-level care hospital that provides obstetric, gynaecological, paediatric and other services. It is part of the SingHealth group of public hospitals. As an academic medical centre, KKH is a teaching hospital for Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.
The position is based at the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (DPLM), the team is looking for pathologists with subspecialty interests in gynaecological pathology, breast pathology, cytology or any combination of the aforementioned areas. These are permanent positions affording the successful candidates the opportunity to work in a dynamic, friendly and supportive department.
The gynaecological, breast pathology and cytology services have six pathologists responsible for providing a comprehensive clinical service comprising gynaecological and breast surgical pathology, frozen section cover, cytology and multidisciplinary meetings. The role of the successful candidate can be primarily clinical with a component of education or research responsibilities in accordance to the candidate's preferences and aptitude. However, an academically-inclined candidate with a strong track record of research achievements in the fields of gynaecological or breast pathology as evidenced by outstanding peer-reviewed publications in top-tier scientific journals and a significant record of success in obtaining competitive research grants, and who is committed to furthering his/her research career, will receive prioritized consideration for this position.
The department has modern and efficient facilities including a large repertoire of immunohistochemical stains and integrated molecular diagnostics. The department receives the largest and most extensive case-mix of gynaecological specimens in Singapore. The department is an integral part of the larger SingHealth Duke-NUS Pathology Academic Clinical Programme.
Requirements
You should be a qualified and experienced medical specialist with relevant qualifications that are registrable with the Singapore Medical Council, and have a specialist qualification in gynaecologic and/or breast pathology or have had a distinguished career as a gynaecoogical and breast pathologist that can be recognised by the Specialists Accreditation Board.
Also, you should have at least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal and have competent clinical skills with the ability to make sound and independent decisions.
