Our client specializes in providing hands-on support to its investment portfolio to provide stronger financial integrity and governance.
About The Job
The Associate role involves identifying investment opportunities in ASEAN markets, structuring deals with the Japan HQ team, and preparing investment materials to attract co-investors. It requires valuation analysis, portfolio management, and continuous interaction with teams and external parties for investment origination and investor relations.
Responsibilities
- Originate investment opportunities in major markets in ASEAN, and liaise with the investment team in Japan HQ to structure and execute the deal.
- Create internal investment committee papers as well as external deal marketing materials (investment teasers and memoranda) to garner co-investor interest.
- Create and analyze basic valuation models (DCF and comps analysis) for entry price assessment.
- Post investment monitoring and management of portfolio companies
- Constant interaction with the Singapore and Japan teams as well as with external parties for origination of investment opportunities, potential buyers for deal exits, co-investors, IR for existing and potential investors/clients.
Requirements
- basic financial skills including financial statement analysis, valuation modelling, accounting, & knowledge in alternative investments.
- At least 5 years of work experience in a relevant field such as finance or management consulting
- Strong communication skills (in both spoken and written English).
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
- Willingness to handle a wide range of work including administrative work is key given the limitation in headcount.
