The AVP Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the preparation and consolidation of financial statements for the Agribusiness division, including both statutory and management reports, for submission to various stakeholders and regulatory agencies. This role provides in-depth analytical reports for Management and reviews the financials of both the holding company and country subsidiaries to ensure compliance with local accounting standards and group policies.
The AVP Financial Controller will collaborate closely with Country Controllers and Mill Controllers to implement group policies related to Accounting, Treasury, and Credit. Additionally, this role will lead the development and continuous improvement of accounting procedures and documentation to maintain effective financial controls across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the consolidation process for group financials, including monthly results, budgets, and forecasts.
- Assist with the ultimate parent company's SEC reporting, including the preparation and review of financial statements and disclosures required for quarterly and annual reports.
- Review and manage the global chart of accounts and ensure proper mapping between the general ledger and Infor/DEPM accounts.
- Act as the key user for all accounting systems and reporting tools used by the group, assisting in the development of required reports.
- Oversee the Group's annual audit activities and work closely with external auditors to meet reporting timelines.
- Implement new accounting standards across all entities and perform GAAP differences analysis where applicable.
- Work collaboratively across departmental functions, with strong communication skills for effective partnerships with relevant business teams.
- Assist in reviewing the group's working capital and liquidity.
- Oversee the Credit Checks function, including reviewing credit limits, making recommendations for approval, managing the IPA approval process, and handling exceptional manual release situations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, ACCA, or similar professional accounting qualification preferred
- Minimum of 1015 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment, with a strong foundation in accounting principles and practices
- Proven experience of 35 years in leading and managing a team, with demonstrated leadership abilities
- Highly motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong sense of initiative
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and drive improvements in operational efficiency
