We are seeking a Backend Development intern who is not only skilled in database management but also willing to take on the role of scaling vector databases for genAI use cases. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys the challenge of wearing multiple hats.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrating data from external sources, such as carbon methodology databases, into the registry
- Write and optimize queries to manage data and ensure database performance and integrity
- Optimise code for performance, scalability, and security, ensuring smooth platform operations
- Participate in debugging processes, identifying and resolving issues related to backend performance, data integrity, or functionality
- Work closely with frontend developers to ensure seamless integration of backend services with user interfaces
- Understanding of cloud-based technologies (GCP, AWS) for efficient, scalable registry services
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Typescript and SQL
- Proficiency in backend frameworks such as Express.js, FastAPI or Flask
- Familiarity or experience with React, Next.js would be a plus
- Experience working with web application development
- Interest in learning new technologies/frameworks
- Understand the needs and challenges of working in startup environment
