Job Summary:
As a Banquet Manager, you will oversee and manage large group bookings, weddings, and catering events to ensure a seamless and memorable experience for all guests. Your role will involve coordinating with clients, managing staff, and maintaining high standards of service to create a welcoming and professional atmosphere for every event.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Event Planning & Coordination
. Coordinate with clients to understand their vision and requirements for events, including weddings, corporate functions, and large group bookings.
. Develop event plans, timelines, and layouts, ensuring all logistical needs are addressed.
. Liaise with other departments, including kitchen, front of house, and finance, to ensure all preparations align with event requirements.
2. Client Communication & Relationship Management
. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing questions, concerns, and special requests promptly and professionally.
. Conduct initial consultations and follow-up meetings to ensure client satisfaction before, during, and after events.
3. Staff Supervision & Training
. Schedule and manage the banquet and catering team, including servers, bartenders, and setup staff, to ensure efficient service.
. Provide training on service standards, table setup, safety, and guest interaction to maintain quality and professionalism.
4. Vendor Coordination
. Work closely with vendors and suppliers, including florists, decorators, and audiovisual providers, to ensure smooth event execution.
. Review and approve vendor contracts and payments, ensuring budget adherence.
5. Budget & Cost Management
. Develop and manage event budgets, keeping track of all expenses and ensuring financial goals are met.
. Identify areas for cost savings while maintaining service quality and client satisfaction.
6. Catering Services Oversight
. Coordinate with the kitchen team to develop menus and arrange tastings with clients.
. Ensure catering services are provided on time, maintaining food quality, presentation, and portion consistency.
7. On-Site Event Management
. Oversee event setup, food and beverage service, and cleanup, ensuring a smooth flow of service and addressing any issues immediately.
. Act as the main point of contact during events, ensuring client and guest needs are met.
8. Post-Event Follow-Up
. Conduct post-event debriefs with clients, gathering feedback for improvement.
. Maintain records of event details, client preferences, and any special requirements for future reference.
9. Compliance & Safety
. Ensure all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations are followed.
. Address emergency situations and resolve conflicts professionally to maintain a safe environment.
Qualifications:
. Previous experience in banquet or event management, preferably in the hospitality or food service industry.
. Strong organizational and communication skills, with a focus on client service and attention to detail.
. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
. Proven experience in budget management and event cost control.
. Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to train and motivate a team.
