About The Role
As a CBRE Bid Manager is exceptionally rewarding and you will work across a broad range of interesting client sectors and internal CBRE stakeholders. The role is suited for someone who is passionate about quality, creativity, written word and seeing end results. You will have attention to detail and a flair for understanding and articulating solutions to client needs and challenges. A blend of strategic, organizational, written and interpersonal skills are crucial for success.
This role plays a vital role in driving the success of our organization by working in partnership with the Sales Director and Country/Division sales team to oversee the project management and governance of the sales process, particularly at the Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) stages. You may also be required to own and lead top pursuits.
What You'll Do
Attracting clients
- Guide and encourage BDM and BUSC client research activity to support client cultivation
- Assist with preparation of materials for prospective client meetings and presentations
- Lead (or support) the coordination of Country/Divisional events by inputting into content, themes and materials
- Work with the Strategic Development Lead to support BDMs and BUSC's develop vertical markets.
RFI and RFP process
- Ensure request for information (RFI) questionnaires are submitted to a high standard
- Work closely with the sales team to manage proposals from initiation to submission, this will include:
- Ensure bid tracker/responsibility matrix is created for every opportunity and team remains organised
- Response planning and structuring
- Work with BDM's and BUSCs to develop win themes aligned to client needs
- Write bespoke bid responses and work closely with the BDM to produce compelling executive summaries
- Check and challenge BUSC and BDM content, and contributions from others to ensure written responses clearly articulate differentiation and win themes
- Ensure final documents are of the highest quality through design, editing and proof reading
- Ensure the team are on track for post proposal activities, helping plan and prepare site visit, presentation and workshop materials.
BUSC community
- Build and foster a BUSC community to create a team of high performing sales support, this includes holding weekly BUSC catch ups and workload prioritisation meetings
- Help BUSCs build confidence by coaching and development through writing and proposal training, and personal development planning
- Support BUSC recruitment, onboarding and succession planning.
Knowledge and process
- Work in partnership with the Sales Director and Strategic Development Lead to embed and improve process and knowledge across the Country/Division
- Work closely with the team to ensure content library is continuously up to date with professional profiles, account profiles and case studies. Share content with the wider business
- Proactively stay up to date with CBRE, industry knowledge and innovations, sharing this information with your team and allowing this knowledge to filter in to bid responses
- Maintain a consistent process with BDMS and BUSCs to ensure accurate Salesforce reporting.
Networking and collaboration
- Build an internal network across the Bid Manager community to enhance knowledge, share best practice, and collectively benefit from shared insights
- Build relationships with operational leaders and support functions.
What You'll Need
- Minimum bachelor's degree in business management or any related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Excellent numeracy skills: Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word and the ability to use specialist commercial software.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Problem solving has the ability to confidently work through problems and find solutions Collaboration: displays the ability to work in a team. Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
