The Opportunity
Responsibilities
As an experienced BIM Coordinator/Modeller, you will be responsible to manage the preparation and oversee the coordination and resolution of BIM issues as follows:
- Work with design teams on BIM model creation and refinement.
- Incorporate incoming information from the client team.
- Overlaying and identify coordination/interface issues.
- Information and model compliance to the Project scope, BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and Level of Information Need
- Managing the processes & procedures for information exchanges, including revision & suitability code use in a Common Data Environment (CDE)
- Proficient use of BIM technologies both in the cloud and managed systems to integrate Project Information Model (PIM) and issue tracking reports and metrics.
- Possess the ability and willingness to adapt, quickly learn and apply new skills brought about by rapidly changing structure, process, information and technologies.
BIM Coordinator
Reporting to the Project Architect, the successful candidate will have a range of responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:
- Working to BIM standards and project strategy, requirements and codes of practice
- Federating and managing the PIM
- Report coordination conflicts back to the design teams for their resolution
- Developing progress report against project BIM requirements
- Running and reporting coordination checks
- Guide design team colleagues through the DE process and provide ad hoc assistance to the wider project team when required.
- Facilitating design coordination meetings with the PIM and tracking issues resolution activities
- Encourage broader team use of federated models for issue resolution.
- Encourage clash avoidance during design using WIP models.
- Advising discipline teams on model requirements including:
- Support the design team with spatial location and Units,
- Measure Level of Information Need progress against BEP requirement and MPDT
- Report on Asset data status and provide support and guidance where needed.
BIM Modeller
- Work closely with Architects and team members to implement and monitor work plans and the co-ordination, organisation & preparation of documentations and drawings, adhere to BIM execution plan and BIM project workflow criteria.
- Ensure projects are completed in accordance to BIM guidelines and compliance with the relevant government regulatory requirements.
- Manage processes, implementation, best practice and techniques of BIM and related tools.
- Create BIM Design Models and Documentation.
Requirements
- Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction related subject.
- A minimum of 3-5 years (production) experience in multidisciplinary design environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiar with local standards, project implementation and building codes.
- Strong proficiency in BIM (REVIT), Navisworks and various BIM processes and systems .
- Proven experience in managing the design coordination process.
- Ability to effectively prioritise tasks and solve problems when working under pressure.
- Developing experience of Project and Information Management.
- Have experience in defining DE outcomes and setting requirements for successful delivery in a DE environment.
- Working Knowledge of national codes and classification schemes and how they apply to DE delivery.
