SUMMARY
You are responsible for purchasing and selling marine fuel to vessels owners, ensuring competitive pricing and timely delivery. You will build and maintain relationships with suppliers and clients, negotiate contracts and manage the logistics of fuel delivery. Stay informed about market trends and pricing while effectively managing financial and operational risks. This position demands strong negotiation skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to make quick, informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
THE ROLE
Carry out back-to-back bunker trading
Develop customers for ship owners, operators, and charterers
Leverage on existing team for supply sources
Monitor the entire supply chain and trade cycle from loading, operations, delivery to payments
Maintain and collect accounts receivables and relevant payments for trades
Generate daily indications and prices from suppliers to the team and clients
Record and follow up on all trade-related activities and payments associated with trades
Maintain and document enquiries and deals in the database via Excel and trading system
Achieve KPIs and monthly targets
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Maritime Studies, Logistics, or a related field is preferred
2-4 years of experience in bunker trading or a similar role within the maritime industry
Strong understanding of the maritime industry, including knowledge of vessel operations, fuel specifications, and international bunkering regulations
Proven ability to negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers and clients
Possess good understanding of financial markets, risk management, and the ability to analyze market trends and pricing
Familiar with environmental regulations and best practices for pollution prevention in the maritime industry
