Job Summary
As a Business Development team member, you will be instrumental in driving the success of our fundraising and management division. This role requires a professional with expertise in property investments, deal execution, strategic analysis, and fundraising. You will work closely with senior leadership, contributing to all aspects of the investment process with individual investors, from sourcing and diligence to execution and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Fund Management and Strategy:
- Lead the development and execution of investment strategies.
- Collaborate with senior management to refine fund objectives and investment criteria based on market trends and investor feedback.
- Investment Analysis and Due Diligence:
- Conduct thorough due diligence on potential investments, assessing financial performance, market dynamics, and operational risks.
- Build and maintain sophisticated financial models to project returns, analyze scenarios, and support investment decisions.
- Prepare detailed investment materials that clearly articulate investment opportunities, risks, and strategic recommendations.
- Deal Execution:
- Manage negotiations with sellers, stakeholders, and financing partners to secure favourable terms and conditions.
- Coordinate with legal, tax, and financial advisors to ensure all documentation is complete and compliant.
- Fundraising and Investor Relations:
- Play a critical role in fundraising efforts, working closely with senior leadership to develop and execute fundraising strategies.
- Prepare high-quality marketing materials, including Fund Pitch Books, to effectively communicate the fund's value proposition to potential HNW investors.
- Engage with HNW investors, presenting investment strategies and fund performance, while building and maintaining strong relationships with current and prospective investors.
- Organize and participate in fundraising events, ensuring effective communication and representation of the firm's investment offerings.
- Research and Market Intelligence:
- Conduct extensive market research to inform investment strategies, identifying emerging trends and competitive landscapes.
- Produce comprehensive quarterly and annual market reports to guide strategic decisions and investor communications.
- Support business development efforts by presenting findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Asset Management and Portfolio Oversight:
- Work closely with the asset management team to monitor portfolio performance, implement value-enhancement initiatives, and ensure optimal asset utilization.
- Prepare regular performance reports and presentations for investors, highlighting key metrics and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field; advanced degrees (MBA or Master's in Finance) or relevant certifications (CFA, CAIA) are highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in property investment management, with a significant focus on real estate investments and fundraising in the Asia-Pacific region. Prior real estate investment management experience is required.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and investment analysis.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with investment management software and databases.
- Analytical and Research Skills:
- Strong analytical capabilities with a proven ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Experience conducting market research and developing comprehensive reports.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly and persuasively to a variety of audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with internal teams, investors, and external partners.
- Work Ethic and Team Orientation:
- A proactive and self-motivated approach to work, with a strong desire to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
