Our Tier 1 client is a global integrated Logistics specialist seeking an entrepreneurial, experienced Business Development Manager - Contract Logistics, to lead the next phase of APAC growth. This role focuses on expanding customer relationships, driving growth, and executing strategic business development initiatives across the APAC region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and drive business development for contract logistics services throughout the APAC region.
- Implement strategies for customer retention, cross-selling, and upselling to expand existing accounts and strengthen client relationships.
- Champion strategies to retain current customers while identifying and executing cross-selling and upselling opportunities to maximize value from existing relationships.
- Ability to inspire, develop, and lead a high-performance sales team, with a proven track record of achieving sales goals under challenging conditions.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-caliber business development team to meet both short-term and long-term revenue and profit targets, with monthly and semi-annual performance reviews.
- Establish and implement a regional supply chain strategy aimed at positioning the team and company as a top-tier contract logistics provider across South East Asia and Australia.
- Monitor trends in the Contract Logistics sector and collaborate with procurement and operations teams to align business opportunities with market demands.
- Consistently meet sales objectives and report on team performance in weekly, monthly, and semi-annual reviews, presenting outcomes and insights to senior leadership.
- Monitor and maintain a robust pipeline of business opportunities across South East Asia and Australia, ensuring a steady flow of qualified prospects for the sales team.
- Design and execute a regional Go-To-Market strategy, ensuring that all sales activities align with this strategic vision to maximize market reach and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in the logistics industry.
- Over 5+ years of experience in Contract Logistics, with a proven track record in business development or sales.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to effectively communicate, assess situations, and respond decisively in varied scenarios.
- In-depth knowledge of logistics across Air, Ocean, local transportation, and warehousing sectors, with a strong network in South East Asia and Australia.
- Proven success managing large-scale, long-term contracts and global accounts.
- Proficiency with logistics IT systems, including FIS, WMS, and TMS.
- High-level proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, for data analysis and reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in English; additional language skills are advantageous.
