As a Business Development Manager, your role involves growing business by nurturing client relationship. You should be self-driven, ability to identify new business opportunities, expand market presence, maintain strong relationship with clients, ability to cover entire sales and marketing cycle and with product experience in marine software solutions. You should also have deep understanding of the maritime industry and have network to executive profiles in the chartering, manager and ship-owner offices, build up over the years.
Role & Responsibilities
Tasks
- Responsible for the Sales effort in regions assigned
- Develop markets assigned
- Generate sales leads
- Weekly and Monthly Sales updates to the management
- Manage and handle customers relations, feedback and complaints
- Be familiar and keep up to date of market requirements and user needs
- Drive sales activities for existing and new channels
- Be actively involved in trade shows, trade advertisements and other marketing communications activities
- Responsible for reports covering CRM, sales pipeline, activities, performance and plans
- Responsible for bid management
- Work closely with the Group sales network to increase the commercial pipelines
- Work on all other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by MD/Business Development Director from time to time.
Professional Competencies
- Technical or commercial background
- Commercial understanding and business acumen
- Proven sales track record in the maritime business
- Experienced in selling to shipowners and charterers
- Experience with direct sales
- Able to travel frequently
- Hunter type with ability to close the order
- Experience with selling software or hardware solutions
- Knowledge of Shipping and Offshore sectors
- Experience with energy optimization in the maritime business is an advantage
- Experience with marketing and production of marketing materials is an advantage
- Previous experience as mariner is an advantage
- Tertiary educated with recognized degree qualification
