About the team
In 2022, trade volume in Singapore reached 1.4 billion across various industries, including commodities, manufactured goods, and food. SMEs within this ecosystem often face high financing costs and limited options. Our Digital trade and supply chain finance team plays a crucial role in supporting businesses within this ecosystem by offering a wide range of financing products.
The team comprises subject matter experts in Sales, Sales Implementation and Product, collectively responsible for driving growth for GLDB through financing the trade flow within the supply chain ecosystem.
About the role
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Business Development Manager to join our growing team. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing, and maintaining strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth for our company. You will work closely with the Credit, Product and Sales Implementation teams to ensure a smooth end-to-end deal process from client on-boarding to implementation.
What will you be doing
- Independently source client leads with financing requirements. Develop and execute effective sales strategies and proposals to convert leads into bank's customers and achieve sales targets.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers across various industries and sectors. Support clients CFOs/Treasurers in their strategies and implementation, influencing their decisions regarding financing, funding, and capital deployment.
- Enable clients to adopt GLDB's Supply Chain Finance and trade products. Negotiate and complete financing arrangement with clients and partners while in compliance with the bank's policies and standards.
- Work with Credit to evaluate the creditworthiness of the customer and conduct timely credit reviews and identify early warning signs of credit deterioration.
- Drive healthy credit facility utilization and actively cross-sell the bank's products and services.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as credit, product, and operations to provide feedback and insights on customer needs, market trends, and business opportunities.
- Monitor and report on the performance and progress of sales activities.
Who do we need
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Sourcing with strong network in local (Singapore) and ASEAN markets.
- Preferably 3 years of work experience in B2B sales within a financial institution or have experience of management in social organization e.g., business association.
- Knowledge and experience in Trade Finance especially in open account sales, credit evaluation and assessment and KYC requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communications skills.
