Job Summary
- To assist the Co-Head, Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing (CABM), in coordinating and leveraging internal resources across the CABM teams, and the Bank, as required in the running of the team.
Responsibilities
Strategy
- Be a key contact for the direct reports of the CABM Global Co-Head and other peers across CABM and Strategy & Talent (S&T) and the business BPM community.
- Assist in structuring and supporting key projects and deliverables across the wider team of the CABM Co-Head, liaising and working closely with direct counterparts across both CABM co-head teams in order to ensure alignment and optimised ways of working across the function - supported by the Planning and Data & Insights team.
- Lead and manage the annual planning process in partnership with CABM segment marketing and communications heads and CABM cluster heads
- Proactively track and monitor CABM plans through the year, with focus on CIB marketing, WRB/CIB global communications and key CABM cluster priorities
- Ensure the CABM Global Co-Head is briefed and prepared as necessary for key meetings and engagements - including CABM LT, Wealth & Retail Banking (WRB) MT, WRB Risk Committee, Greater China & North Asia Risk Committee, and key budget / strategy forums (MBR, QPR), including the preparation of speaking notes, presentations, and engaging of Subject Matter Experts, as required.
- Optimise time management for the CABM Global Co-Head including:
- Development and oversight of annual calendar planner ensuring optimal alignment with functional and Group objectives.
- Undertake specific projects for the CABM Co-Head as required.
- In conjunction with the BPM to CABM Co-Head (central), set the annual schedule and agenda for CABM LT meetings, ensuring effective agendas, content and facilitation.
- Help set agendas for individual meetings for CABM Co-Head with direct reports and other key stakeholders, covering key updates and follow up actions
Communications
- Work with the CABM markets & business teams in the development and execution of the CABM Co-Head communications plan to help ensure effective communication of key priorities and messages across CABM and the wider Bank.
- Support the CABM Co-Head in building and maintain close working relationships with S&T, Investor Relations, Reputational Risk, core business stakeholders and BPMs for Management Team.
People & Talent
- Work closely with HR Business Partner/team to coordinate people agenda across the relevant teams.
- Coordinate specific people plan projects/ initiatives, including key recruitment for the CABM Co-head team.
- Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations.
Risk Management
- Collaborate with CABM LT and other key stakeholders to anticipate any risks and issues inside and outside of the functions that the CABM Co-Head should be aware of.
- Seek to identify and make CABM Co-Head aware of possible solutions, collaborating with fellow BPMs and Leadership Team members and stakeholders to achieve this.
Governance
- Responsible for reviewing and analysing the budget for the markets & business CABM teams, working with budget owners across the team to ensure actions such as forecasting and restatements are completed on time - with support from the planning and governance leads in our clusters and business CABM marketing teams
- Looking across the CABM Co-Head portfolio, proactively identify efficiencies and opportunities, and review potential overspend to ensure costs stay within budgets.
- Work collaboratively with BPM and other counterparts in the CABM central teams, with a one-CABM mindset, to identify further potential efficiencies, opportunities and ways of working across the function as a whole.
- Work closely with Strategy & Talent COO teams in order to manage and prioritise resources effectively.
- Proactively review planned investment spend in alignment with other areas of CABM to identify potential efficiencies, duplication of efforts or potential gaps.

- Support the CABM Co-Head in building effective external relationships, particularly with key advisory partners to bring in additional insight, support and creative thinking into the team.
- Attend external meetings as appropriate and take notes and actions for follow up.

- 7+ years direct experience in Financial Services and/or communications & marketing
- Exceptional organisational and planning skills.
