Job Responsibilities
Familiarity with the SIA and the REDAS Conditions of Contract.
Familiarity with the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act
Attention to detail to review various types of contract forms and documents
Strong understanding of legal terminology used in contract forms and documents
Reviewing contract amendments for various types of contract forms to ensure the currency of proposed amendments.
Reviewing and providing guidance on contract execution to ensure all agreed deviations from the original terms are accurately documented.
Reviewing and assessing contracts, agreements and related documents to ensure clarity, accuracy and compliance with internal corporate, risk and contract management policies.
Reviewing contracts, agreements and related documents and providing opinions on interpretation for the purpose of contract administration
Reviewing payment claims and payment responses.
Job Requirements
A keen appreciation and understanding of typical risks relating to large scale construction projects from an Employers perspective.
A diploma or degree in building, engineering, construction, quantity surveying, project management or related disciplines.
At least 8 years in contract management for large scale construction or infrastructure or EPC projects.
Confident, articulate and well-spoken. Comfortable taking the initiative to provide internal stakeholders with firm (or even opposing) views to ensure good corporate governance and clarity in contracting intent.
Able to support the Legal team to deliver practical and effective advice on contract interpretation and dispute resolution to BUs.
A team player and effective collaborator to work with internal stakeholders and external partners to address contract-related issues and facilitate contract amendments or negotiation.
