Summary:
As the Cargo Flow Officer, you will manage the north bound transhippment connection and your assigned south bound service to work towards achieving the objective of ensuring optimization of full containers and maximizing the ships with empty evacuation.
To perform well in this role, you should be someone who works well under pressure to meet multiple timelines, as well as have a logical mind to solve problem and make decision amidst ad-hoc incidents.
Main Responsibilities:
Cargo Flow for South-Bound Service (65%)
- Perform vessel planning for ANL South-Bound Vessel
- Prepare Daily Booking Report
- Liaise and challenge origins to ensure forecast are provided as accurate as possible
- Raise any abnormality between forecast and fresh bookings to trade managers immediately
- Identify and challenge potential issue when forecast versus fresh bookings variance is more than 120% or whatever the percentage threshold is customized for the trade
- Cargo planning when ANL vessels approach transshipment hub or direct port calls
- Evaluate and analyze the ports and vessels operations performance
- Liaise with transshipment team to plan for final load list for approaching vessel
- Minimize Operational Cost (change of vessel, shut out and storage cost) through vessel planning
- Finalize vessel within 24hr KPI after she leaves the direct or Transshipment port
North-bound connection support (35%)
- Generate reports to be used as basis for container transhipment planning, identifying long idling at terminal and investigate reasons for delay and to check if evacuation plan is in place as well as planning the connection of incoming transshipment containers
- Ensure to plan containers connectivity to final destination
- Based on first carrier arrival identify feasible and earliest vessel connection to respective final destination
- Prioritize connection planning on in-house vessel. Otherwise source for other alternative vessels from 3rd party if no vessel or space option from in house vessel
- Send instruction to transshipment team to nominate the containers on target vessel and to update journey leg (JL) accordingly
- Random check if containers are nominated in terminal and JL was properly updated
- Monitor vessels connectivity and make changes if any misconnection
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum a Diploma Holder from recognized institutions, preferably in shipping or logistics with at least 1 year of working experience in transportation or logistics industry would be preferred
- Good knowledge of the maritime industry
- Proficient in MS Excel (Vlookup / Pivot Table) would be highly preferred
- Good communication and analytical skills
