We are seeking an experienced and motivated Carpentry Factory Manager to oversee our carpentry operations in Singapore. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing production processes, ensuring quality control, optimizing efficiency, and leading a team of skilled carpenters and factory staff. The Carpentry Factory Manager will play a pivotal role in maintaining our commitment to delivering high-quality wood products and custom solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Management: Oversee daily operations of the carpentry factory, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of carpenters, machine operators, and support staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure all products meet industry standards and customer specifications.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, including raw materials and finished products, to ensure efficient production flow and minimize waste.
- Process Optimization: Analyze production processes and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, productivity, and safety.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular training sessions and safety audits.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage budgets for production operations, controlling costs and optimizing resource allocation.
- Client Interaction: Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide technical support regarding product specifications and capabilities.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, quality metrics, and other key indicators to senior management.
Job Requirements
- Experience: At least 10 years of experience in carpentry or woodworking, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and production processes, as well as familiarity with various woodworking machinery, including:
- Sliding table saw
- CNC machines and automated cutting tools
- CNC furniture design and order splitting software proficiency (preferred but not mandatory)
- Safety Awareness: In-depth knowledge of safety protocols and regulations specific to the woodworking industry to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on woodworking equipment.
- Precision and Attention to Detail: Strong skills in measuring, cutting, and assembling wood with high accuracy.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Proficient in identifying issues during production and implementing effective solutions.
- Mathematical Skills: Competence in basic math for measurements, calculations, and conversions related to woodworking.
- Time Management: Strong organizational skills to effectively manage production schedules and meet deadlines.
- Physical Stamina and Strength: Capability to lift heavy materials and operate machinery for extended periods.
