Overview:
The Chief of Family Services is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing all family support programs and services within the organization. This individual will develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive family service programs designed to support and enhance the well-being of families and children. The Chief of Family Services will work closely with government agencies, community partners, staff, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality, effective service delivery and to promote THKMC's mission and vision.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning
- Contribute to the organization's strategic planning process, providing insights and recommendations for family services
- Formulate initiatives impacting on practice, policy in the social service sector
- Develop and implement evaluation frameworks to assess program effectiveness and impact
Staff Leadership and Development
- Establish structures and frameworks for clinical supervision, mentoring and continuing education for professional staff
- Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for staff to ensure effective service delivery
- Integrate service wide programmes to ensure uniqueness
Client Advocacy and Support
- Advocate for clientele groups and/ or social concerns, based on needs identified at the communities
- Provide direct support and intervention in complex cases as needed
- Ensure clients receive comprehensive, compassionate, and culturally competent services.
Community Engagement and Partnerships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to enhance service delivery and resource availability.
- Partner with Institutes of Higher Learning, International Organizations to enhance client outcomes
- Represent the organization at community meetings, events, and forums to advocate for family services and support.
- Advise government and non-government agencies on evidence-based practices and findings
Program Development and Management
- Lead the development and implementation of family service programs, ensuring they are aligned with the organization's goals and community needs.
- Oversee the daily operations of all family services, including case management, counselling, and support services.
- Partner with Chiefs of the organisation for a sustainable future.
- Develop and monitor program outcomes, budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and the attainment of key performance indicators.
Policy Development and Governance
- Ensure all family services programs comply with relevant regulations, policies, including internal financial controls.
- Develop and update policies and procedures to enhance service delivery and ensure client safety and confidentiality
- Stay informed about changes in laws, regulations, and best practices related to family services and ensure organizational compliance.
Qualifications:
- Masters in in Social Work, Counselling, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 - 20 years of experience in family services, with at least 10 years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong knowledge of family systems, child development, and community resources.
- Proven ability to develop and manage programs and budgets.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to the organization's mission and vision, with a passion for supporting families and children.
