KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Personnel Management
. Prepare and develop lesson plans to conduct classroom teaching in accordance with the curriculum.
. Deliver clear and effective lessons by using variety of relevant teaching strategies.
. Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interest and learning style of students.
. Track and evaluate student academic process.
. To ensure the classroom is clean, hygienic and presentable at all times.
2. Curriculum Development/ Pedagogical Work:
. Responsible for students continuous development, implementation, and facilitation of pedagogical concepts and Academic achievements in the school curriculum -Cambridge Mathematics, English, Science and Additional English Language. As well the delivery and implementation of the International Primary Curriculum.
. Keep up to date on new teaching methods and development of curriculum.
. Continuous development, implementation, and facilitation of pedagogical concepts for all subjects in combination with the International Primary Curriculum with all educators and the Head of the School.
. Take part in event and projects outside of the classroom.
3. Collaborative Planning
. Attend weekly staff meetings.
. Work closely with other staff and parents on ways to improve students academic progression.
. Prepare documentation and reports in relation to school curriculums.
. Participate in policy writing, curriculum reviews, documentation changes and others as required.
. Participate in appraisal procedures and in-service training that provide personal, professional and career development.
4. Collaboration with parents
. Attend parent-teacher meetings.
. Provide information to the parents regarding school activities and events.
. Organize and facilitate Student-Led-Conference.
5. Publicity work
. Planning and implement of school events and class activities.
. Take part in Open House/School tours and explanatory admission talks if needed.
. Involve in organize of primary school-related articles for Newsletters and Yearbook.
. Any other tasks assigned by Head of School.
REQUIREMENTS:
. Qualified and certified primary/ elementary teacher by the equivalent of Ministry of Education in their native country or where the qualification/ certification was obtained.
. Experience working in an international school in Singapore is preferred.
. Experience with dealing with ESL/EAL learners in the mainstream classroom.
. Experience in teaching an inquiry-based curriculum.
. Strong believer of rigorous learning through differentiating content, product, process and the learning environment to meet students needs.
. Strong IT skills using Microsoft or Apple-based software.
. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
. Well-organized with excellent leadership abilities.
. Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills.
