Cloud Engineer

Position Overview: The successful candidate will be responsible for daily cloud operations and cloud implementations in technical customer engagements. This includes managing basic operations, administration, and specific cloud implementation projects or pilots. This is a client-facing/delivery role.

You will work closely with clients to ensure efficient cloud infrastructure management and collaborate with the team to deliver innovative and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cloud Operations: Execute daily cloud operations including administration, configuration, and maintenance of cloud environments.
• Cloud Implementations: Lead and participate in cloud implementation projects and pilots.
• Performance & Security: Ensure all configurations adhere to high standards of performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Automation: Codify and implement/deploy configurations using automation tools like Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform, etc. Automation by default with proper documentation is highly preferred.
• Cloud Migrations: Participate in cloud migration projects for virtual machines (VMs) and databases using tools like Cloud Endure, Azure Migrate, etc. Experience with migrating more than 20 VMs is preferred.
• Client Collaboration: Engage with clients in operational meetings, providing expert advice, troubleshooting, and process improvement recommendations.
• Knowledge Sharing: Stay updated on market trends, cloud technologies, and competitive insights. Share knowledge within the technical community.
• Issue Resolution: Resolve technical issues promptly and provide detailed documentation as per service-level agreements (SLAs).

Requirements:

• Experience: Proven experience in cloud operations and delivery roles.
• Client-Facing Skills: Strong client handling and communication skills.
• Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud administration.
• Automation Tools: Experience with automation tools (Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform) for infrastructure management.
• Cloud Migration: Experience with cloud migration tools like CloudEndure and Azure Migrate.
• Certifications: Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) are preferred.
• Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Documentation: Ability to document solutions, configurations, and resolutions effectively.
• Technical Skills Maintenance: Strong drive to maintain and update technical skills and certifications.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with large-scale cloud migrations (20+ VMs).
• Knowledge of database migrations in cloud environments.
• Proficiency in scripting and automating tasks.
