Job Summary
The Coordinator (Surveillance) will be part of the Healthcare-associated Infections (HAI) Surveillance team at the National Public Health and Epidemiology Unit (NPHEU), National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID). The Coordinator (Surveillance) will work with the team to conduct systematic surveillance of infectious disease prevention and control among healthcare institutions with feedback mechanisms to promote improvement of care delivery through reduction of HAI in Singapore.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
GENERAL
- Conduct HAI surveillance such as device-associated infection surveillance in ICU, antimicrobial utilisation surveillance and perform quality checks to rectify errors in datasets and ensure data collection methods used are consistent.
- Plan and coordinate audits for healthcare institutions
- Prepare presentations related to surveillance work
- Manage internal and external communications with collaborations to ensure a smooth execution of surveillance process
- Collaborate with internal and external partners in research projects and participate in manuscript preparation
- Share knowledge and facilitate discussions with team on data collection errors, workflow reviews etc.
- Undertake adhoc duties related to HAI surveillance and research and response to emerging pathogens of pandemic potential.
Job Requirements
EDUCATION
Degree in healthcare related or higher with 1-2 years of experience in healthcare surveillance work.
Experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software such as Excel and Powerpoint
- Good communicator, organised and is a team player
- Fast leaner who can master and grasp guidelines
