Responsibilities:
. Develop and implement a detailed commissioning plan, outlining all activities, timelines, resources, and testing procedures required for the data center systems (MEP, IT, fire protection, etc.).
. Lead and coordinate commissioning teams, including subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring all systems are tested, verified, and fully functional according to design specifications.
. Oversee the testing, inspection, and verification of all critical systems, including HVAC, electrical, IT infrastructure, power distribution, and other building systems, ensuring they meet performance criteria.
. Identify any system deficiencies or operational issues during commissioning and work with relevant teams to resolve them promptly, ensuring systems meet the required standards.
. Maintain detailed commissioning documentation, including test reports, issue logs, and progress reports, ensuring accurate records of all activities for client handover.
. Work closely with the design and construction teams to ensure that commissioning requirements are incorporated into the final design and installation phases, addressing any discrepancies or modifications required.
. Act as the main point of contact for the client during the commissioning phase, providing regular updates on testing progress, system performance, and any issues. Oversee the final handover process to ensure all systems are fully functional.
. Ensure all commissioning activities comply with local regulations, industry standards, and client specifications, and that systems meet all safety and operational requirements.
. Identify potential risks or delays in the commissioning process and implement corrective actions to mitigate these risks, ensuring the project stays on track for timely completion.
. Provide training to the client's operations team, ensuring they understand how to operate and maintain the data centre's systems after handover.
Requirements:
. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications related to commissioning (e.g., CxA, LEED, or equivalent) are an advantage.
. Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in commissioning, with a strong background in large-scale projects such as data centers, commercial buildings, or industrial facilities.
. Strong knowledge of commissioning processes, including system testing, validation, and troubleshooting for MEP, IT, and building management systems (BMS).
. Proven leadership abilities to manage commissioning teams, coordinate with contractors, and effectively communicate with stakeholders. Ability to clearly report on system status, risks, and issues.
. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly address issues that arise during commissioning and take corrective action to ensure systems meet operational requirements.
